A Short Term Review of the Artisan Key-83 Mid

So I haven’t owned too many mousepads, with the only other good one I’ve ever owned being the Freefall SV Base control+ v2 (midnight), although I’ve played Overwatch on a Saturn pro and a lamzu energon before. That said, it became time to replace it, and I decided to get a key-83 mid. For reference, I largely play Overwatch, with a bit of apex, the finals, and other random more fast paced shooters.

So far, my experience has been good, I’ve scrimmed and played my first official with the pad, and both went well, and the pad felt good for what I personally like in mousepads. There is enough texture for me to still have a good feel for where my mouse is, but it is a decent bit faster and smoother for the glide than my SV base is. Tracking has felt much better, at least from what I’ve felt, as I don’t really use Kovaaks or aim trainers much. Overwatch has felt really nice, and the Y friction is less noticeable than in my previous experiences with pads.

Mid is firm enough to where I don’t accidentally push down, although I do prefer just not being able to alter the friction that way at all, but that’s more due to the pad I came from being extremely firm.

All in all, I’m really enjoying my key-83 so far, and there are no QC issues that I’ve seen. The base doesn’t move on my desk, and the glide feels exceptional.
