I bought this pad myself on MaxGaming. No AI review, and I've used this pad for the last 3 weeks.

Firstly, I want to remind everyone that this review is my PERSONAL opinion and view of a product and shouldn't be used to decide your purchases. See other reviews and compare information and decide based on that.

I will be using these two glass pads, GlssWrks Zane and WallHack SP-004, as a base to compare and review the Ryo.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

This pad is so thin, 1.5 mm as advertised, and it shocked me to the point I thought it was made of plastic because of how light and thin it felt when I grabbed it, especially because this is a big pad (500 x 450 mm). The second thing I noticed was the "rubbery sensation." What do I mean by this? The coating and texture make it feel like there’s a thin layer of rubber on top. The silicone base is good but not perfect; on my desk it shifts when I push it (it doesn't happen while gaming). For context, I use a “KARLBY” countertop from Ikea as my desk surface.

THE PRINT AND DESIGN

I personally dislike most anime pads, but this one… I don't dislike it at all; far from that, compared to the other 2 I own, I love Ryo, and it motivates me to play and be at my desk. The colors are awesome, they have good contrast and they aren't too saturated, so the pad doesn't become obnoxious on your desk, and all the micro details on the print make it special.

COMPARASION (SPEED, TEXTURE, AND NOISE)

Compared to Zane and SP-004, Ryo is the fastest and most textured. I would dare to say that SP-004 is two times slower and smoother in comparison, this is not a bad thing, just a personal preference. About the texture, another thing Ryo does better than Zane and SP-004 is dust/particle resistance, for context, I own a cat, and since I got Ryo, I just need to wipe it with a microfiber cloth once, and I'm good for the next couple of hours or even for the day. This was never an issue with my Zane, but SP-004 was like a dust/particles magnet, and it constantly pissed me off. When i changed from my Zane to the Ryo the biggest differences besides the speed and texture was how comfy Ryo felt in comparison, the edges and being thinner make it a more comfortable experience to use and the skin stickiness… How I hate the sticky sensation from SP-004. To be fair, I sweat a lot from my hands and Portugal's weather isn’t properly the best for this kind of problem either, but Ryo… I can't say it doesn't stick when I'm sweating a ton or after a competitive game, but in comparison to the other 2, it's like night and day. I can use Ryo daily without putting a sleeve on (but I don't recommend gaming without one), and that’s a win for me already.

Noise is hard for me to describe, because I don't hear anything at all while using it, but my partner told me he knows when I'm gaming because of the sound the sleeve makes against the pad. (We share the same desk, take that into consideration).

MICE USED

Tried a few mice with this pad, I feel better with the lightweight fingertip mice. Here is where I think Zane and SP-004 can win because they are smoother, I didn't feel much difference going from a 20g mouse to a 30g one, but with Ryo I can feel the difference, not a deal breaker. I even changed last week to my WLmouse Miao (felt my aim a bit shaky and went for a higher and heavier mouse). I never had any tracking issues with any of my mice with this pad.

SKATES USED

• GhostGlides Cyclone Pro dots

Ryo is mouse skate sensitive, I tried all those skates on my G-wolves Fenrir Asym to have a bit of consistency. I felt better playing tactical shooters (Valorant and CS2) with Cyclone Pro.

Rated (speed to control): Ultraglide RS -> Esptiger Ice -> Clustrs Donut -> Cyclone Pro.

About the wear down of the skates, I felt almost the same wear down as I did with the SP-004 or Zane, but this can be due to the lightweight mice and the way I grab the mouse.

CONCLUSION

If you’re looking for a speed glasspad, Ryo is a great choice since it's limited and might not be available anymore. Kuko, Yuyo, Apex, and Rin, all of these pads are "equivalent", slightly faster or slower than Ryo but very close.
