hello again!
"When the target changes direction, I often lose track of it" so, what i noticed early into my reactive grind was that this was dude to my reaction time, so i built a practice of saying where the target was going in my head so i can prepare for it to go in the other direction and react promptly. i also dumbed reactive down heavily to "the target can only go in one other direction, so be ready."
"If the target switches direction multiple times, I tend to overpull my aim." another common practice for reactive that contains many direction changes is to move your mouse as little as possible so you waste less time correcting on to targets. trying to react snappily will cause you to overaim and miss.
"I’m wondering if I should focus on practicing smooth tracking and target reading to fix this issue." you can hybridize your practice of both, reactive is a category that pretty much lives in the philosophy of "fast is smooth, smooth is fast" however, for smoothness i would things like play close long strafes invincible but the thin variant, i played lots of thin tracking to help with smoothness, and for reactive as a whole, for me to improve i played the jade palace ground benches.
