Choose your weakest task, play it until you get within 5% of your current PB on it, if you get within 5%, you have 2 choices: 1. Greed for the bigger PB (stay on the task and work harder on it) 2. Move over to the next weakest task.
Use this rule as a basic guideline for your practice, other than that, experiment during your runs (vary your tension, some tasks like popcorn for ME work better lower tension, compared to 1w2ts where it higher tension) and focus completly on the task at hand, don't have any other thoughts except playing.
Otherwise, for more details, look at resources online or on youtube, before playing a task, try making sure you know the technique for it beforehand. (MattyOW's vids, Viscose, AimerLew, Zeonlo's static guide, bardooz)
If you're unsure of what to play there's these 2 great resources of lists made by legends in the community:

"What but isn't this optimizing score instead of my skill" -> If you can get a highscore on a task that's testing your flicking ability or your ability to track a target moving, that means you're tracking the target better in a controlled environment, same with flicking, score is skill (at least most of the time).
Other personal tips:
find enjoyment in the game (don't do anything just because it considered "the best")
find friends who play the game and compete against them close to your level (competition is good for improvement)
try to be open-minded (I do not like VDIM, but I can see why it good, and I appreciate LG's work on it, I have tried it but wasn't for me, if you want to try it you can play it, but don't outright say: "it horrible", "never play it!", "who even plays that?", insights come from places you expect the least.)
Consistency - AimerLew (I'd say to watch this, for me it helped a lot notice my ego and solidify things I thought of before, it a really great video and I'd say my most recommended for people who think they've learned everything there is)
YOU CAN IGNORE ALL MY ADVICE (this is not built in stone, it what I think at the current moment, and what got me from starting at Penguin to closing in on GM complete, it is my personal foundation, but it doesn't mean it has to be yours, and it doesn't mean that what I say is right, part of the reason I wrote this is because I am looking for contradictions, challenge what you think, don't hold onto anything, and look at everything with a clear head).
